As outlined in the Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS) Manual, supervisors of Youth Peer Advocates who are not credentialed peers themselves are required to participate in training on the YPA role. Through a partnership between CTAC and Families Together in NYS’s youth network, Youth Power!, online training to fulfill this requirement is now available.

You will be completing the same Level 1 training modules that YPAs complete as part of their credentialing process. These modules will help to orient you to the intent of youth peer services, the roles of youth peers, and familiarize you with the YPA training and credentialing requirements.

Accessing the YPA Orientation Training for Supervisors

To access the online training modules, you will be redirected to the Self-Learning Center (SLC) hosted by our partners from the Community Technical Assistance Center of New York (CTAC). Before continuing, please review the ‘SLC User Guide’ below to walk you through the registration process for this training.
