Public Speaking and Storytelling with Purpose for Family Peer Advocates
Friday, May 15, 2026 @ 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
This presentation will focus on helping FPAs use their lived experience as a professional tool for advocacy, education, and systems change. Participants will explore how to share personal stories with intention, maintain healthy boundaries, and tailor their message for different audiences such as families, providers, community members, and policymakers. The training emphasizes strength-based storytelling, public speaking skills, and connecting personal experiences to larger system issues that impact families. Through discussion, reflection, and practice scenarios, FPAs will learn how to use their voice to build trust, empower families, reduce stigma, and create meaningful change within systems of care.

Affinity space for credentialed Family Peer Advocates to promote collaboration, skills development, inclusivity and belonging.
